Democrats are projected to win control of the US House of Representatives, flipping it from a Republican majority, CBS News projects.

The Democrats are projected to win at least 218 seats and Republicans win at least 160 seats.

The House is the lower chamber of the US Congress. Lawmakers there serve fixed terms of two years. The House is commonly where proposed laws are introduced and debated before going to the Senate.
