Deadly avalanche in California kills eight skiers while one remains missing
Californian authorities have provided an update on the major rescue operation to find nine skiers who went missing following an avalanche near Lake Tahoe.
According to authorities, eight people have been found dead, while one remains missing.
This comes after a group of fifteen skiers were taking part in a three-day skiing trek across the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
On the last day of their trip, police received reports of people buried in snow after an avalanche in the Tahoe National Forest.
Six were found alive, and two of them have now been taken to hospital.
