COP30: UN chief urges ‘credible plan’ for climate change | BBC News

World leaders are gathering in Belém, Brazil, ahead of the UN climate conference next week.

It takes place a decade after the Paris Climate Agreement in which countries pledged to try and restrict the rising global temperatures to 1.5 degrees.

A recent UN report warned that governments are falling short of the promises made.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres said that this year’s meetings must end with a ‘credible plan’.
