Controversy swirls as ABC keeps Jimmy Kimmel on air after provocative joke

Writer Michael Loftus weighs in on reports the ABC is sticking by Jimmy Kimmel after his controversial joke about Melania Trump becoming an ‘expectant widow’.

“I have to think the ABC is using the Kimmel show as a tax write-off at this point … they’re spending a fortune on this, and they’re getting nothing back,” Mr Loftus told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“They should have fired him after the Charlie Kirk thing; this guy is untouchable. I don’t know what the appeal of Jimmy Kimmel is.”
