Back-to-back mass shootings rock South Africa: 27 dead

Two separate incidents involving mass shootings near South Africa’s largest cities have resulted in at least 27 fatalities.

In Wedela, southwest of Johannesburg, 17 individuals were killed and at least 15 others injured when eight armed suspects opened fire at a bar.

In another incident, 10 people were killed and at least 11 injured during a shooting at a barbecue venue in Cape Town.

Police are currently searching for multiple suspects, and no arrests have been reported at this time.
