Anika Wells defends controversial social media algorithm crackdown

Communications Minister Anika Wells has defended plans to let Australians opt out of algorithmically recommended social media content.

Ms Wells says the proposed digital duty of care laws are a sensible response to emerging online harms, particularly those affecting children.

The Coalition has criticised the proposal as censorship.
