Andy Burnham blasted over ‘scripted response’ on Israel ahead of potential prime ministerial bid

Spiked Online Editor Tom Slater accuses Labour MP Andy Burnham of throwing Israel and the Jewish community “under the bus” ahead of any potential run for UK prime minister.

“Horrified but not surprised. The pressing truth is that if you want to be a leader of the Labour Party or any supposedly progressive party these days, that requires you to throw Israel and Jews under the bus,” Mr Slater told Sky News host James Macpherson.

“As you saw from that very scripted response, these are the lines that a Labour leader is expected to take on Israel now.”
