Albanese welcomes US-Iran peace deal and calls for lasting de-escalation

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has welcomed the US-Iran peace deal which was recently confirmed by US President Donald Trump.

“Australia welcomes the agreement between the United States of America and Iran; we have called consistently for a de-escalation and for an end to this conflict,” Mr Albanese said.

“We want this agreement to stick, because it is in the interest of people in that region to end the military conflict, but it’s also in the interest of the entire world.

“This conflict on the other side of the world is having an impact here as it is in every single country.”
