Bangkok declared a disaster zone after significant flooding

Bangkok has been designated a disaster zone following continuous rainfall that has led to significant flooding in the city.

Approximately 300 millimetres of rain have been recorded over a 48-hour period.

According to Bangkok’s Governor, the situation poses risks to public safety and may result in damage to both public and private property.

The military has set up shelters and field kitchens to support ongoing relief efforts.
