Matt Kean releases statement on controversial Brazil trip
The Australian’s Environment Editor Graham Lloyd discusses Climate Change Authority Chair Matt Kean’s controversial taxpayer-funded trip to attend COP30 in Brazil.
“It is quite extraordinary because it is quite unusual for a public official to also hold a role in the private sector,” Mr Lloyd told Sky News host Jaimee Rogers.
“Matt Kean was given permission to do that, so it was all known.
“But to appear at the taxpayers’ expense at an international conference on a panel sponsored by your other employer, the least that should happen is that the conflict should be disclosed.”
