Starmer ready to fight any leadership contest as Burnham gains momentum

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to contest any leadership challenge against Andy Burnham.

This comes after the Greater Manchester Mayor confirmed he would call for a leadership contest if he wins the Makerfield by-election.

A poll conducted by Sky News UK said if the pair went head to head, 37 per cent would back Keir Starmer and 59 per cent would back Andy Burnham.
