Trump’s savage swipe at Pope Leo following Pontiff’s meeting with ‘useless’ Chicago Mayor

US President Donald Trump has made another quip at Pope Leo following the Pontiff’s meeting with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson.

Mr Johnson had been visiting Rome as part of a US delegation when he held talks with the Head of the Catholic Church.

He praised the Chicago-born Pope for pushing back against US President Donald Trump’s policies during discussions.

President Trump posted a statement on Truth Social in response, writing: “Someone should explain to the Pope that the Mayor of Chicago is useless, and that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.”
