‘We are providing more relief’: Jim Chalmers blasts Coalition over excise cut plan

Treasurer Jim Chalmers accuses the Coalition of getting their “costings wrong” when asked about inflationary offsets to the government’s excise cuts.

“Those opposite called for a one-and-a-half-billion-dollar change, which completely ignored the fact that heavy vehicles were paying 34 cents a litre,” Mr Chalmers said during Question Time.

“They have got their costing wrong.

“It is not the first time they have done that.”
