‘Mess of his own making’: Questions mount over Starmer’s knowledge of Mandelson situation

Spiked Online Editor Tom Slater weighs in on the ongoing saga between UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Peter Mandelson.

“Keir Starmer can pretend that he’s as angry as everyone else and that he’s shocked and appalled by what’s happened on his watch,” Mr Slater told Sky News host James Macpherson.

“Two explanations are plausible here; one of which is that he did know … the other one is that he was just blissfully unaware of what was going on within his own government.

“Once again with him, it is a mess of his own making.”
