‘Betrayed our country’: Starmer launches scathing attack on Peter Mandelson over Epstein links

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has launched a scathing attack on disgraced former political figure Peter Mandelson.

He claims the former UK ambassador to the US misled his party about his relationship with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

“Mandelson betrayed our country, our parliament, and my party,” Mr Starmer said.

“He lied repeatedly to my team when asked about his relationship with Epstein before and during his tenure as ambassador. I regret appointing him.

“The cabinet secretary, with my support, took the decision to refer material to the police, and there is now a criminal investigation.”
