VFX were GOOD in the 70s
When The Exorcist Director, William Friedkin, set out to film Sorcerer in 1977, he did not expect to encounter as many hurdles as he did. From constantly losing crew members to jungle-related illnesses, to a literal federal drug bust involving his Crew, to having to change locations because the river where they were filming literally ran dry.. It’s not surprising that this bridge scene took a month to complete and cost the equivalent of $25 million in today’s money.
