🪐 You are entering a fictional zone: reality has been suspended.

This ’90s-style creature feature takes place over one night in a Biology research lab. When a mysterious package arrives from one of the lab’s field research teams, a promising researcher uncovers a plot to steal her work, masterminded by her jealous boss. When the sample is opened she finds herself having to grapple with her conscience before making a life or death decision.

Director’s Statement:
My background is in practical Special Effects, but I always start with story. The creature in the film ultimately serves as the amplifier for the pre-existing human relationships, and provides us a path into exploring a theme that is so very important today; the dangers of exploiting the natural world. The story takes place in the mid-90s, leaning into the nostalgia and aesthetic that I feel works so well for the horror-thriller genre. If the audience can feel the influence of shows like ‘The X-Files’ we’re on the right track! At its core, the film serves as a cautionary tale – “Beware when fighting monsters, lest you become one yourself.”
