Director’s Statement:
I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of technology, human emotion and psychology, a theme that runs through much of science fiction.
As AI becomes more embedded in our lives, I feel a growing unease. I think that impulse reflects humanity’s ever burning questions. Why do we exist? Who created us? Maybe by creating machines in our image, we are trying to answer those questions.
But what happens when we project our deepest emotions, our grief, our longing, our need for connection, onto something that cannot feel? Through this story, I have tried to examine not just the promise of technology but also the emotional and moral consequences of a world where the line between human and machine continues to blur. A world where even our pain risks becoming artificial.
