“YOU WILL BE KILLED, SNAKE!” Omar Critics Reveal Chilling Threats
A chilling new report says people who spoke publicly about Ilhan Omar have faced death threats, pressure to recant and even physical violence.
One anonymous critic from Minnesota’s Somali community says he was explicitly told “you are going to be killed” and branded a “snake.” Another alleged threat warned that people were being sent to put him in the hospital and leave him in a coma.
One man told the New York Post that he was assaulted in Minneapolis and later attacked outside a Kenyan restaurant after his name appeared in the press. He claims approximately 15 people pepper-sprayed, punched and kicked him during the 2022 attack.
He believes a Somali TikTok personality helped trigger the violence by denouncing him and sharing his location, although that remains his allegation.
Another source says a prominent member of Minneapolis’s Somali community called and pressured him to withdraw everything he had said about Omar, declare that he had lied because of a personal dispute and publish a message supporting her before the midterms. The Post says it heard the seven-minute call itself.
The distinction here is critical: the people accused of intimidation are not officially linked to Omar, reportedly receive no instructions from her, and it’s unclear whether she even knew about the alleged conduct. Omar isn’t accused of wrongdoing in connection with these threats, and her office didn’t respond to the Post’s request for comment.
But if critics were beaten, threatened with death or ordered to recant because they spoke about a member of Congress, those allegations demand a serious investigation.
