Absurd Cornell 7 Leak! University’s “Punishment” Is A Complete Joke
The Cornell 7 scandal just produced one of its most absurd leaks yet. The Cornell Daily Sun says it obtained the reflection-paper prompt assigned to Scott Kretzschmar after a university Title IX panel found him responsible for attempted sexual exploitation. The assignment reportedly asked him to propose educational materials for students, recommend ways Greek Life could reduce substance use and complete the work without artificial intelligence. Cornell wouldn’t authenticate the document because of student-privacy rules, while Kretzschmar’s lawyer also declined to confirm it—but the reported prompt is now triggering another massive backlash over how the university handled the case.
The reflection paper wasn’t his only reported sanction. Kretzschmar also received a no-contact order and educational modules covering sexual harassment, social-media use and bystander intervention, and the panel didn’t find him responsible for sexual assault or completed sexual exploitation. Meanwhile, a different defendant, Diego Sarabia, has filed a motion seeking dismissal of the civil claims against him on legal and timing grounds. That motion remains pending and doesn’t establish that the lawsuit has been dismissed. No criminal charges have been filed, all seven defendants deny wrongdoing and the campus disciplinary process is separate from the civil case—but the leaked assignment shows exactly why this entire controversy is still going nuclear.
