Questions about Ilhan Omar’s whereabouts are exploding after footage of the Minnesota congresswoman speaking at a CAIR-Washington event began circulating online. The viral post claims Omar has been “located” in the Seattle area and highlights remarks in which she praises CAIR’s civil-rights work.
The clip arrives after federal agents searched Omar’s Washington, D.C., home as part of an investigation involving her immigration paperwork, while recent reporting said she hadn’t been seen publicly since the search. That combination made the footage spread incredibly quickly—but there is a major timeline problem.
CAIR-Washington advertised Omar as the keynote speaker at its annual Bellevue banquet on October 10. Federal agents searched her residence on October 12. The footage therefore confirms that Omar appeared at a pre-scheduled Washington-state event two days before the raid. It doesn’t establish that she is currently in Seattle, where she was during the search or that she traveled there to evade investigators.
Her current whereabouts remain publicly unclear. Omar hasn’t been charged, denies the underlying immigration-fraud allegations and says the investigation is politically motivated. The footage is real and the timing is interesting—but calling it proof that she has now been “found” goes beyond what the evidence establishes.
