A major hand soap recall is raising concerns after Intercon Chemical Co. pulled nearly 2,700 cases of soap distributed across 15 states, including products commonly used in commercial and institutional restrooms. Six products are affected, including Intercon, Clearly Better, Summit 150, Vestis, and Laura Lynn soaps, with potential contamination involving bacteria such as Pseudomonas and Serratia. These organisms can cause skin, respiratory, urinary tract, and bloodstream infections, particularly in people with weakened immune systems. The FDA classified the recall as Class II in September 2026, warning that exposure could cause temporary or medically reversible health problems.
