Chalmers and Labor accused of pushing ‘anti-productivity agenda’
Deputy Liberal Leader Jane Hume says Labor is making it harder to invest, to grow, and to employ for all Australian businesses because of their “anti-productivity agenda”.
“It’s not just industrial relations, it’s not just taxation and regulation, it’s also energy prices, it’s their lack of take up of technology … these are all contributing to lower productivity,” Ms Hume told News24.
“Under Labor we’ve seen productivity go backwards around five per cent.
“It’s productivity that drives real wage growth; it’s productivity that drives economic growth that brings prosperity to Australia.
“Without … a genuine productivity agenda, well, then Australians will end up poorer over time.”
