The Batman Part II: Court of Owls May Be the Real Target
Gotham looks ready to turn against its most powerful citizens in The Batman Part II, and the Court of Owls could be sitting directly in the middle of that conflict.
New set photos show Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne moving through protesters outside a Gotham courthouse, with signs targeting oligarchs and apparently referencing the Court of Owls. Instead of keeping Gotham’s shadowy ruling class completely secret, Matt Reeves could be building a city where the Court has already become a symbol for everything people believe is corrupt about Gotham.
That opens the door to a very different Court of Owls story. What if Batman isn’t trying to expose the Court, but trying to catch someone murdering its members? Theories surrounding Poison Ivy and Victor Zsasz suddenly become much more interesting if one of them is targeting Gotham’s wealthy elite while Batman is forced to protect people the city believes deserve punishment.
