When Netflix was synonymous with streaming, the catalogues were in one place, the price felt fair, and “ad-free” meant ad-free. Then the studios decided they all wanted to be Netflix. Libraries split. Prices jumped. Ads crept into premium tiers. Titles you “bought” vanished when a license lapsed. Cuts you paid for were swapped for sanitized ones.
Physical media is coming back for a reason. A disc on the shelf does not expire. A file you rip from a disc you own does not disappear because a storefront changed its mind.
