Bodies recovered from Philippines ferry fire as death toll rises to 35

Emergency crews have recovered 30 bodies from a ferry fire in the Philippines, as the death toll rises to 35 people.

Images released by the Coast Guard show accommodation inside the ferry reduced to metal and ash, among other charred debris.

Firefighters gained access to the vessel today for the first time after extinguishing a fire which had been preventing them from entering the ferry.

Local authorities had reported 84 people missing before responders rescued 43 people.
