My first anthropomorphic character | Designing Leprido for The Rippaverse #rippaverse #comics

Leprido is the first anthropomorphic character I created for the Rippaverse. He debuts in Isom #3 as hired muscle for Darren Fontaino, and he wrecks everything: he fights Isom, and he has a great fight with Santwan that Cliff Richards absolutely nailed.

Marcos Rios is my main concept artist, and my job is to give him as much context as I possibly can. When I described the vest, I thought it was going to come out ridiculous. Then I saw his first pass and it was immediately cool.

That’s the thing about collaborators. Plenty of artists are good. What you actually need is someone who gets it, so you can bounce ideas back and forth. That synergy is the difference.
