Labor’s new digital duty of care policy is about ‘controlling what adults’ see online

News24 host Peta Credlin says Labor’s new digital duty of care legislation is more about “controlling what adults see, hear and read” online, under the “cloak of child protection” as it draws criticism across the country.

“If children are not being protected under current laws, then it’s up to the government to make them tougher or to start fining the tech companies, as they’ve repeatedly threatened they’d do, but never have,” Ms Credlin said.

“This new bill circulated today is about controlling what adults see, hear and read.

“Labor’s new digital duty of care puts free speech at risk.”
