Hamas’ control over journalists creates ‘insufficient’ picture of Gazan reality

​Former Israeli ambassador to the UK Mark Regev says journalists in Gaza need to take and release photos of what Hamas tells them to to “stay alive and healthy”.

​“All the footage coming out of Gaza is Hamas talking points. There’s no free, independent, civil society under the Hamas dictatorship,” Mr Regev told News24 host Chris Kenny.

​“We’ve all seen pictures of innocent children killed by Israeli air strikes, but we don’t if that’s true, it could be, they could have been killed in a different way, we don’t know when they were killed, we don’t know what happened, we don’t know if it was Hamas ordinance.

​“It’s all Hamas talking points, that’s the first problem.”
