Alien: Ridley Scott Is Going Back to His Biggest Loose End
Ridley Scott isn’t finished with the Alien universe, and his return could finally resolve one of the franchise’s darkest cliffhangers. Nearly a decade after Alien: Covenant, Scott says he’s working on a story that picks up where the 2017 prequel left off, putting Michael Fassbender’s rogue synthetic David back at the center.
That unfinished story suddenly feels even more relevant. David ended Covenant in control of a colony ship carrying thousands of sleeping humans, while his obsession with creation had transformed him from humanity’s servant into something convinced it should replace its creators.
