‘We don’t all need to live in woke palaces’: Angus Taylor pledges significant slash to NCC

​Opposition Leader Angus Taylor calls for a reduced National Construction Code to help lower the cost of new builds.

​“You’ve got to make it easier to build a house; it’s too hard to build a house in the country, whether you’re in the regions or in the city,” Mr Taylor said.

​“2,000 pages of regulations telling builders how to build a house. Builders know how to build a house; they don’t need 2,000 pages of help from the government.

​“It’s not helping; it’s just making it harder.

​“What that 2,000 pages is telling them is if they’re going to build a house, they have to build a woke palace.

​“We don’t all need to live in woke palaces.”
