‘Grave risk of failing’: Royal Commission into Antisemitism considering requesting extension
Shadow Defence Minister James Paterson says the Albanese government would “have to grant” an extension if the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion requested it as he labels it a “grave risk of failing”.
“I want the royal commission to succeed … but right now I think it is a grave risk of failing and being judged very harshly by history,” Mr Paterson told News24 host Peta Credlin.
“They gave the royal commission such a short time frame.
“But if the royal commissioner asked for an extension of time, the government would have to grant it.”
