I don’t get like this as much any more, but this is a special occasion.

The patriarch of my family started a slave and died a property owner. I have more resources than he had, more than my parents had, more than any generation before me, and so do you. So I’m not in a moral position to gripe, and this stream clip is about why. Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington versus DuBois, Malcolm versus King: this debate is not new. One side waits for the world to be moved for them. The other side moves it. The X-Men took decades to become icons. Nobody skips the line. Purposeful action or nothing.
