‘The ceasefire may be over’: Jennings warns Strait of Hormuz conflict will drag on
Sky News Defence Analyst Peter Jennings predicts months of military strikes around the Strait of Hormuz, warning any hopes of peace have likely collapsed into a prolonged low-level conflict.
“I think what we’re going to see for months ahead is military strikes in and around the Strait of Hormuz, high-level rhetoric from both sides saying that both parties should come to the table but peace not breaking out,” Mr Jennings told Sky News host James Morrow.
“I think it’s just going to be low-level conflict for an extended period, until maybe we get beyond the midterms in the United States, which seems to be the thing the president is focused on.
“The fighting is not over, but maybe the peace deal or the ceasefire, maybe that’s over.”
