First Man (2018), directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling, used archival NASA footage in several key sequences, including the rocket launch and other space scenes.

Instead of just recreating everything digitally, VFX studio@6fTLIUXQMk/edit took the much more elaborate route of combining archival footage with CGI extensions to make it widescreen.
