What’s next for the channel?
Wanted to sit down and talk about where I’m at and what’s next for this channel. Two major milestones have fundamentally changed my life — becoming a father and building the Rippaverse into what it is today. Both put me at a different stage, and my content is going to reflect that.
The Rippaverse has a sales and distribution partnership with Hachette Book Group — one of the top three publishers in the world. Our entire back catalog and everything going forward will be in major retailers, bookstores, and comic shops starting July 6th. We’ve got two new kids imprints. There’s a massive amount of onboarding, editorial, and administrative work that I’m handling as the owner. I’m planning a year to a year and a half out. That runs my life right now.
So when I do create content, it’s going to look different. More Rippaverse-focused. Shorter videos. Less streams. And when I’m not talking about the Rippaverse, I’d rather talk about things I enjoy and things I can be analytical about — fatherhood, economics, sports. I created the Rippaverse to be part of the solution instead of constantly griping about the problem. Now that it exists and it’s growing, I can’t even make that old content if I wanted to. I’m not consuming that stuff anymore. And as a company owner, it’s wildly unprofessional to be worried about what everybody else is producing.
Those 2020-era days are gone and they’re not coming back. I appreciate every single one of you who’s been here over the years. If you followed me for that older content, I totally understand if you look elsewhere. No hard feelings. I’m just at a different stage. Big things are happening, and that’s where my energy belongs.
